Alec Whitten, AIA, is the Principal Architect and Founder of Whitten Architects, a Los Angeles-based design practice focused on modern residential architecture. Alec focuses on thoughtful design, client experience, and the continued development of architectural practice. His experience managing a growing firm led him to explore new approaches to project delivery, staffing, technology and production while maintaining design quality and communication. Alec also serves as Strategic Advisor to VBS, bringing firsthand experience integrating distributed teams into architectural workflows and culture. His work explores practice integration, project delivery, team development and emerging technologies, including AI as a tool to reduce production and administrative work while giving architects more time for design, judgment, collaboration and client relationships.
