Government Building – 3D BIM Model, Clash Detection, and Coordination

Brief Overview
The Government Building project involved the design and construction of 10 blocks of government office buildings, varying in height from 4 to 13 storeys, covering a land area of 34 acres in the Federal Government Administrative Center of Putrajaya. Virtual Building Studio (VBS) responsible for developing 3D models across all disciplines and facilitating clash detection and coordination through online meetings. The project concluded with the creation of an as-built model integrated with a facility management (FM) tool.
Challenges/Requirements
Comprehensive 3D BIM Model Development
Inter-discipline Clash Resolution
Achieving Level of Development (LOD) 500

Deliverables
VBS successfully created highly detailed as-built models for all disciplines, ensuring accurate representation of the final construction.
VBS conducted rigorous clash detection analysis to identify and resolve clashes among various building components, enabling a clash-free design.
VBS facilitated online coordination meetings, bringing together the engineering team to resolve clashes, streamline workflows, and enhance collaboration.
Outcomes / Benefits
Efficient Design and Construction
Clash-Free Design
Enhanced Collaboration
Accurate As-Built Model
A staggering 355 million women and girls are still waiting for a toilet in India (WaterAid, 2017). Women from low-income communities face the brunt of this gap as they compromise their safety each day to carry out their daily sanitation routine.
