Project Overview
Sunway Construction, a multi-disciplinary AEC firm with 150+ staff, was delivering a mission-critical data center for the Yondr Group under aggressive submission timelines. The Yondr 01 project spanned two facilities and demanded simultaneous, fully coordinated BIM across every discipline.
As internal production capacity became constrained across multiple live projects, Sunway needed an experienced BIM delivery partner able to produce coordinated LOD 350 BIM models without affecting project schedules or quality. VBS was engaged for its multi-discipline BIM capability and its ability to absorb sudden resource surges.
Working from 2D client-issued reference drawings, VBS delivered coordinated LOD 350 models across Architecture BIM, Structural BIM, MEP BIM, and Civil BIM, with Navisworks clash detection and a complete construction documentation set clash-free and submission-ready.
Sunway's priority was business continuity: keep every submission on schedule while resolving coordination risk before it reached the site. The core needs were commercial before they were technical:
- Limited internal BIM production capacity across multiple concurrent projects.
- Tight, non-negotiable submission deadlines for a mission-critical facility.
- A requirement for clash-free, coordinated LOD 350 BIM delivery.
- Scalable offshore BIM support that could surge on short notice without quality loss.
Starting with 2D reference drawings, an architectural floor plan, and a 30-grid-line structural layout spanning both facilities, VBS converted client information into coordinated LOD 350 BIM models. Business first, technology second.
